This cozy eatery is a perfect haven for weary hikers and travelers looking to unwind after exploring the stunning Malerweg trails and nearby Carolafelsen.
Though the menu details are limited, customer favorites like the lovingly prepared Plinsen (traditional German-style pancakes) have garnered glowing praise for their exquisite taste and beautiful presentation. Complementing the food are thoughtfully curated drink options, including an exceptional caramel iced latte that has become a signature treat for visitors after vigorous mountain treks. Whether you choose to sip on an indulgent Eiskakao or refresh yourself with a well-crafted Eiskaffee, each drink is carefully made to delight the palate and soothe the soul.
The culinary experience at Zur alten Schule is elevated by its serene and inviting atmosphere. Soft background music and a tranquil setting create a peaceful retreat, allowing guests to relax and savor each bite while absorbing the quiet charm of the Saxon Switzerland region.

The guy who runs this place is awesome, super cool, funny and most importantly, cooks great food. Amazingly, once I told him I was a New Zealander, he started talking to me about New Zealand Films that are not that well known internationally.. incredible to have such a conversation in the depths of Eastern Saxony, an unforgettable experience, highly recommend this joint.

Vielen Dank:)
